In 2015 I was invited by Mr. Eduardo Sabillon Morel, director of the Healthy Mind Healthy Body International to support dentistry medical outreach to villages in Santa Barbara, Honduras as a dentist. For several years I helped as a volunteer in the area of dentistry and medical missions. The target population were children and youth in villages with high poverty and where no medical services existed. In 2017, with a lot of effort and support from the collaborators and directors of the foundation, it was possible to open a dental clinic located in the health center of the village of Pueblo Nuevo, Petoa, with the aim of providing dental care, emergency services, education, and preventive medicine to support a population of over 12,900 people. From 2018 to date I’ve been hired to work as a dentist in the dental clinic through an agreement between the municipality of Petoa and the foundation Healthy Mind, Healthy Body International. I direct the only free and low cost clinic in the state of Santa Barbara, and despite Covid, we provided non-stop services to thousands of individual over the past 6 years. I continue to participate and assist in medical and dental missions in the area, helping out when needed.
